Biography

Shawn Dubay is an artist born in Michigan who has lived in Illinois since 1995. She received a B.A. from Michigan State University and a M.F.A. from the University of Chicago. She has taught at art centers, colleges and universities in Chicago, and now makes and sells art full-time.

In addition to creating figural and landscape art, she also makes narrative work. Her art is often influenced by the poetry of her favorite writers, including Adrienne Rich, Marge Piercy and A. Poulin, Jr.

She resides in Chicago, Illinois, with her husband and their two cats.

Shawn accepts commissions for representational or abstract portraits, pet portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Contact information is below.
